I have invested a lot of money in SEO and my site is still in the construction stages, keyword relevance, linking, Meta tags, Image Crunchers and the works,
But I am afraid that one of my keywords has about 2 Million searches each month and if I cloak the competitors will spot it and report me and my primary site might get banned.
How do I really get my site to the top by cloaking but protect my primary site..

Cloaking is a defensive tool to keep others from stealing your optimized web pages.
R u sure about this I cant get to the number one spot on search engine returns by cloaking, this is actually what I mean please be sure thats the only reason why I need this option.

Hello, this is just an absolute kicker its like a runner that trains and trains and trains but the runner on drugs takes one pill and wins the race.. Why train then.
interesting analogy! the thing is though that as far as atheletes are concerned, it does not work like that. if they win using performance enhancing or body building drugs they also have to train like fury as well.
... just as with cloaking. it is not a magic potion that leads to top ranking anyone who thinks it is completely misunderstands the concept.
as volatilegx elegantly put above, cloaking only disguises your code, it doesn't bump you higher.

i will add as a disclaimer that we do not use cloaking for seo although i understand how it works as we do use IP delivery for geo targeting and so on.
I am at a loss here are you telling me that lets say for widgets, I sell blue widgets that is searched for 10,000 times per month but Widgets is searched for 2Million times per month.
Can I use cloaking and get to the top of the keyword search term return for widgets...
If this is the case (in one go) then why not do it.
I tried this theory I sold 100 items when I used Google Adwords for the term Blue widgets, but when I used it for widgets I sold over 1000, however I made a loss due to the PPC.
If I can replicate this effect then Man would this be great, as I indicated research has shown that my competitors are doing this very thing.
Advise me is it cloaking that can achieve this.

An analogy comes to mind that may help you understand the point that the others are trying to make.
You know how in baseball the coaches and players use an elaborate system of secret hand signals to tell each other what to do? Steal, Hit away, Bunt etc... It's not the secret hand signals that help them beat the other team, it's how well they play the game. The signals are just a tool to keep the other team from guessing what they are going to do next.
It's the same with cloaking. Cloaking is a tool to help keep your competitors from guessing how your pages are ranking so well or for feeding a highly optimized page to a search engine (assuming your pages are ranking well because of on-page factors). It's the way the pages are constructed that makes the difference, not the fact that they are cloaked.

So figure out what it is about their pages that are helping them to rank better than you. Copy what they are doing and cloak them if you want to. Although, I wouldn’t recommend it until you educate yourself enough to really know what you are doing.

Copying techniques is fine. Copying the actual pages and using them as your own is illegal and NOT fine. Just wanted to make that point :)
