Hello Master SEO’s

I have some problems with my site and need expert’s comments from masters. I have optimized few sites recently having Page Rank 4 and 5 for all now. Problem is few of them are not ranking at all on google for low competitive key phrases, where as few are rankings excellent for many keywords.

I came to know that sites which are not ranking were using IP Cloaking in past, how past, I don’t know. What was the trick? Or what other pages they have used for delivering cloaked pages, I don’t know any thing about that.

These sites come to me and I have optimized it and now want to know the back effects of IP stuff done in past. Is these sites are banned for rankings? How google treat sites were using kind of methods?

My client says that they have removed cloaked pages. Sites having PR 4 and 5 and not rankings for single keyword are something unusual to me. Can some body guide me?

Thanks in advance……

There might be a ban in effect for the sites the practiced cloaking. It is possible to get the ban lifted by removing the cloaked pages and making an email request to the search engine on which they are banned. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Then again, the ban might not have been for cloaking. If they were banned for another reason, then you have to figure out what it was and fix it before sending the reinclusion request.

Thanks volatilegx.

Do you know, what is the time duration for ban? I have increased PR now after my optimization and link building work, it means googlebot is visiting site and counting inbound and outbound links, there is updated titles in google index but no rankings.

What is the effective ban period for google?

Sounds to me that the site is not banned at all. If you are seeing titles in Google's index, then the site has pages in the index and is not banned. It's penalized.

How long does a penalty last? Well, if you fix the problems, and the penalty was not hand given, it should go away on its own. Google claims to be constantly updating their index now (no more big updates), so a guess as to "how long" is futile.

If the penalty was hand given, the only way to get it removed is to fix what you guess is wrong, then send an email requesting reinclusion.

There is a chance. See message #4 of this thread.
