Is this cloaking?

Hi everyone! In order for me to be able to use a specific trademarked term in a PPC ad, I must provide a "comparison chart" on the landing page. The problem is, I don't want this chart to be seen by every visitor - only the ones who click on this particular ad. In looking at similar ads, I noticed that a competitor did indeed have a comparison chart when I clicked on the ad, but when I went directly to their site without clicking the ad, this chart was nowhere to be found. Is this cloaking, and if so, is this something that is frowned on?

Nope - that sounds like having a page that isn't linked from any pages on your site (otherwise known as an orphan page), which is fine. I guess the question is, why can't you have the chart on your site? If you think having adwords users click through on it is a good idea, why not normal users on your site?

Well, I never wanted the chart in the first place, but Overture requires it for this trademarked term. I think it will clutter up the page it is on, hence my hesitation in using it unless I have to.

I like edit_g's solution. Just have a special landing page for the trademarked terms with the chart on it.

make sure to put a meta 'noindex' to keep it out of the SERPS if that is what you want.
