Someone told me that comment information is accepted by google by that meaning you can make <!-- ...--> filled with keywords. I am confused, it is still text that the user doesn't see so how can google accept that? How can one make use of comment information to increase keyword density? Is it ok to use it for example as a description for the menu that follows in the code?

You can try this but Google won't give as much weight to anything commented out as it would to something which was visible on the page. You can also try this with the <noscript> tag.

The downside of this is that 1) your page will take longer to load and 2) any competitor who knows what they are doing would report you to google for spamming immediately. It is spamming- but if you want to take the risk...

I want to play it safe and clean. It's not my style to cheat. But this is a issue I didn't come across when reading about this sort of things and didn't know if it was a don't or not so I thought better ask than be sorry and I'm glad I did. It's crystal clear now, thanks for your time :)

Use comments to comment on your HTML source and everything will be fine. Use it for keyword stuffing and you will run into trouble.
