Alta Vista keyword density

I want to place my pages higher in Alta Vista using the proper keyword density. What keyword density do I need to use?

I see a competitor ranked high in an unpaid position , but they are in an unpaid position, which deems he must be using cloaking, because on examination of the page...it doesn't contain the keywords at all I searched on.

Altavista has become a bit of a crapshoot, roll the dice and see what comes up. I would not use the fact that the search term is not present on the ranked page to mean that the site is cloaking. It is possible that other pages within the site are making that page rank well. This happens most often with the index page.

I wouldn't worry too much about AV. If ya can rank, cool, but it's not worth sweating over a little trickle of visitors each month when Google or good directory placements can create a flood of traffic.

I've had good success with about 7% keyword density on AV. This gives me #1 rankings in extremely competitive keywords.
