Hewlo people,

First of all, I was impressed by some of the "informed" posts made by fellow users of this site and would just like to say "keep it up!".

Now, my problem...

I recently registered my very first "dot com" and went about setting up the domain to direct users to my webpage, using URL Cloaking. (Within a frame - as most domain providers use).

This immediately however presented a big problem for a new-2-domain-type person like myself as I found my website was indeed captured into a frame.

This frame much like the Microsoft Windows took over everything regardless of whether I wanted it to, hence destroying/removing/making-go-vanish all my meta-tags.

I would like to know if somebody knows how I can get around this situation and keep the url cloaking AND retain my meta-tags.

I apologise in advance for the incoherency of this post as sleep deprivation set-in some days ago.

Thanks in advance,
PhuzZzy

P.S.- If the answer is a simple one, then in your reply please let me know so I can change my nick to Idiot-Boy, as (a) Idiot-girl is already taken and (b) i'm male :oP)

Welcome Phuzzzy,

It depends on how much control you have of the frame. The simplest approach is to use <noframes></noframes> and put some spider food in there if you have access to the frame code.

The redirection approach though will hurt you in optimizing your pages, if you can move over to your new domain, and I guess that depends on how established your old one is, it would be a really good idea IMO.
