I have some good rankings now but some of the text, in fact all of it on some pages, must be completely changed. This will ruin my great rankings. How can I do this? Right now I have an external javascript redirect to another page but I would rather somehow hide all the text and insert new text in a way that will let the search engines think it is still the same text they loved.

You've lost me on this lizzie, why must you change the text?

If you must change, you could keep the old content on the page (in my preference order): - css positioning - noframes - noscript
If your encapsulating old content, I think noframes enjoys the least risk of being labeled as spam. Make it truly noframes content. You can rank well with noframes in Google and AV.

With noframes I would be changing the carefully crafted page structure by adding the noframes tags as well as new text to the page outside the noframes tags.
Where can I learn how to do the other two options?
