We are currently starting to do some cloaking, and I just wondered if anyone would share a bit of their experience..
currently we are cloaking on a seperate domain to our main URL, and using a copy of the proper index page as the default page for any user going to a cloaked page. Is this common practisE? any advice would be very appreciated! :)

Cloaking on an independent domain is probably a good idea to start with....progression depends upon how much technical backup and confidence you have.

Works for us - stick to the rules. If you break the rules you'll find out.

If at all possible, you should try and stay away from delivering multiple cloaked pages to the same page on your real site. It becomes pretty easy to spot and increases your chances of getting your pages reviewed.

Webguerilla, would you recommend having an 'original' page for every cloaked page?
Or do you think that's not necessary?

Yes, for every page you cloak, you should have a separate page you deliver a visitor to. If you stick to that approach, you reduce the chances of getting into trouble with the engines. When searchers keep coming up with the same page for a varitey of similar pages, they tend to complain. Complaints bring human review.

If you have of list of phrases you want to optimize for, pick the page that comes the closest to matching and use it. If your site has a serch function, search for each phrase and see what gets returned. If you get a lot of matches, you can even use the search results page as the delivery point.
