Blog on your Website vs Blog Separate from Website

What is better for SEO and traffic?

Originally, conventional wisdom was that the blog should be separate and pass SEO juice on to your main business website. The folks at Hubspot are trying to convince me to buy their software and migrate my blog to my business website to draw more traffic. I'm not convinced.

Anyone have any thoughts backed up by dat about which approach is best?

It is always better to have blog on your website like http://www.example.com/blog rather than a separate than on some other site. A blog on your website help in building brand visibility and trust among customers.

I'd go with the blog on my website so that it can increase content, traffic and authority. You can install it on a sub-domain of your site - or a folder of your site. I personally don't know if one of these methods is more beneficial than the other, it's highly debated, but I have always installed mine of sub-domain of my site.

It is better to keep a blog section in any business website. It will help you to boost your SEO rankings as well as drive huge traffic to your business site that may convert into your clients.
