Ask Jeeves- pay for placement

What you actually get

I recently paid for placement. I thought than when I bought a paid inclusion I would get picked up by the other search engines that Ask Jeeves powers. But when I didn't show up in the other search engines I sent a mail to Ask Jeeves. Response came pretty quick and this is what they said.

"The Ask Jeeves Site Submit program will only include your URL into the ask.com
and teoma.com websites. This is an exclusive database that only the above named
search engines use."

From reading this, it seems like I won't get put into those other search engines. And if that is true, then those other search engines have no way to submit a URL? Have I misunderstood or is this the facts?

It's a tough one, but, most search engines/directories will have a some form of paid inclusion programme or other.

The association between one service and another can be unclear (especially as there are always changes going on).

Take a look at this search engine partnership chart [searchengineworld.com] which may help you identify who feeds who.

At a conference earlier this week, Ask talked briefly about plans to syndicate Teoma results to partners in the near future. No real details as to who/what/when, but I'm confident you will see Teoma results showing up at other places fairly soon.

Ask.co.uk You could say is now a PPC SE top results in the where can I find provided by ask on a PPC basis or should I say available as a ppc. Then results by espotting followed by overture finaly mirago on which top position can also be bought.
Maybe you all know this but it was news to me.

I just paid for a site of mine. Has anyone done this? And has it resulted in much traffic?

I don't expect miracles, but I hope is provides more than the pittance of traffic I've received from AV's pay for inclusion program.

I've done well with Ink's program, so I'm hoping to at least pick up a little traffic.

I paid for my index page several weeks ago, my entire site has been spidered, listed, and awarded quite a few #1 spots in the serps. I am quite happy with the results.

the effects at the moment, are somewhat negligible, but as Teoma (ask) start to feed more, as WG indicates, it should be promissing, whether it will generate the traffic of ink and google, thats a tough one to call at the moment.
