How do I submit to AskJeeves - Teoma?

I can't find where to submit, searched already.

I can't find the "submit URL" in either sites.

This question troubles me either..
People say, that only through paid listing and through getting quality links from other sites that are indexed in Teoma. BUT! I have many outbound links and they link to me, but still I'm not in Teoma

You cannot submit manually to Teoma. You need to wait until you get spidered. It can take a while to get in though.

But what is the principle to get indexed in Teoma? More outbound links?

The only way to get traffic from Ask Jeeves is to use Adwords, I have a serp where I control 6 of the top 10 natural positions for a popular travel destination, and in 5 years I doubt I've gotten 50 clicks.

Interesting. I have an amateur site on a fairly obscure topic. I just checked my logs, and the site has 127 hits from ask.com just this month. With this site typically 40% of search engine traffic is directly to the home page. Thus I am guessing the home page is averaging maybe 3 hits a day from ask.com.

How come I am getting more hits than the SERP you mention?

Very simple. Your pet serp probably doesn't have 10 or 6 or 3 or even perhaps no Adwords ads above it. The serp I am referring to has always had a full complement of ads, which essentially made a #1 rank #13.

Recently Ask has switched to "only" 3 ads, plus their in-house CPM ads, so I suppose that explains the "burst" of traffic from Ask - I've jumped up 3-6 slots.

Bingo. I think that is the answer. In the case of all the SERPs I mention they are non-commercial. As in 95%+ of anyone using these search terms would want to buy this from an Internet seller. Even though almost all these SERPs have 3 Adwords ads at the top, pretty much every surfer will ignore them as irrelevant and look down to the natural SERPs. Thus I always have got good ask.com traffic, and nothing has changed recently in terms of ads at the top.

if i type my domain in ask the first result is my page cached by google.. go figure

I've noticed that their spider is VERY slow to pick up new content. Almost as slow as the waybackmachine. It could take six to eight months for them to index your content, even if they find many links that point to your page. I kind of think they are mainly trying to use their name to get people in to click on Google ads. It's kind of hard to find true search results now a days. Their pages are nothing but ads and that's kind of sad, really. They have a good hook with the butler, but no real up to date results.

I have some hits from Ask.com, but after reading their page on how to add your site to their search engine, they flatly said that they are not accepting any URL's. They are confident that they are spidering all the sites on the net.

But they did say that it might take some time for you to get on their site. But one thing they did mention that helps Web Sites to get on their site, is a robots.txt file, which I went ahead and added to my site, but it could take up to 6 months to get on their search engine they said.
