the queries on our proprietary sites grew by 42 percent year-over-year, outpacing the query growth for the search market as a whole," said Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Ask Jeeves, Inc.
Does anyone know what Ask Jeeves/ISH search query volume is on a daily basis? My own guess is 40M/day.
Thanks,

Well they announced that last quarter they did 1.7 billion queries between the 2 companies (not counting syndicated queries). Doing the math it works out to about 19 million proprietary queries a day. Probably counting syndication you are pretty close on your 40 mil estimate but I really don't know the syndicated numbers.

Sorry for the stupid question, but just want to make sure that when you refer to syndication you're talkinga about other search engines where Ask Jeeves and ISH search results are also displayed, right?

Don't think its a stupid question. In fact I have been trying to figure out search syndication myself. Its not just other metasearch engines they syndicate to. Although that seems to be a big part, they also syndicate their search to independent web sites. For Example Jeeves just did a deal with a very large social networking site - Tickle.
