Penalty Removal?

Hi,
Anyone have any experience getting a penalty lifted on ask.com? Our site has gone from being very well indexed with hundreds of thousands of pages to being completely delisted, now for over a month.

If I do an inurl:mydomain search I see the very strange result of "Showing results 1-3 of 1,048,000" (none of the 3 that show up are my domain) like it still has all our pages indexed but they are explicitly removed by a penalty.

After numerous emails to ask.com support all I've gotten back is "please add a sitemap", which we already had, though I hadn't pinged ask.com with it. Of course they continue to spider tens of thousands pages a week from us so it's not like they are having trouble finding our site.

Any ideas would be appreciated..

Thanks,
Jason

Showing results 1-2 of 96,200

I know for a fact i have more pages and ranking keywords then 2 showing up.. I think the operator your using is broken.

try using

sitename site:yoururl.com

brings up a bit more pages.. you can even use keywords before the site: operator

Good point, I think you're right about inurl: being broken now that I look at some other domains, but I don't get any results with site:mydomain.com mydomain either. I had tried that as well as just "mydomain" but none of that will bring up any pages from my site. In fact the #1 result for "mydomain" is a primary competitor. Grrr...

Thanks,
Jason

I've just recently noticed the exact same thing w/ the Ask listings.

The thing that frustrates me, is that not only did we used to rank well in Ask.....but we have always and still do rank on 1st page for our major keywords for Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

I guess if this is my biggest complaint, we're doin OK! But, it'd still be nice to figure out what went wrong :)

No black hat...and no changes to the site. Very eeenteresting. Any others out there that have seen anything similar?

Our site was recently deindexed by Ask for unknown reasons. Do they have a reinclusing email?

They have "site re-inclusion request" as an option here:
[about.ask.com...]

Though it has yet to do me any good, only 1 of my around 6 emails so far has gotten an answer and it was not helpful.
