This semi article made me laugh from Wired.

[wired.com...]

The butler isn't retiring — he remains prominently featured on Ask Jeeves' (ASKJ) website. But by keeping Jeeves the butler out of the ads, the company is hoping consumers will visit the site to try to find him. The company says that consumers are aware of the search engine, but do not visit the site.

I havn't laughed so hard in ages.

mmm. would you go hunting a logo, when all you want is a descent SERP, 2 + 2 = 5, or so it seems.

this is a better read on the ad campaign:
[dmnews.com...]

you know what? googleguy, I think you are better off sending google.com traffic to ask.com

who else can monentize 16% of the pageviews? imagine ask.com with googles traffic. Google can bank on thier adwords bigtime.

(I don't believe, googles site can monentize even 1%, but they do charge a good fee to enroll <5 bux, as I remember>.)
