They might be trying to be son of Vivisimo or Prisma, though. "Community clustering" isn't new either. Since its launch, Teoma has had an aggressive PR act, which has made me back off from them a little bit. In this article, I think they take some cheap shots at Google... eg:
"Google counts hits without giving them any value. Everyone votes and no vote is weighted differently."
Not quite fair...
I generally find Teoma results to be pretty good, though they do get thrown by an occasional high PR site with random text related to the query on the page, particularly if the site is otherwise in the "community."
The article reminds that they're still tracking things with the Direct Hit technology that they also own.
