Dropped from Teoma

They think I'm an adult site!

Early April and following various posts in Webmasterworld I decided to submit my credit-card to Ineedhits for inclusion into Teoma/Ask.
5 pages $102. So far so good.

A week later I received 'inclusion refused' error#13 ***.
***? My site is for a normal business and hasn't even got any bare flesh showing!
I emailed the help-desk and they said there were 'technical problems' and they would re-submit. No problem, I'm finally in.

Last week I checked my placings and I'm invisible on Teoma.
Email again, why am I droppped?
Inclusion refused error number13, not *** this time, but for additional evaluation of content. I assume that's a euphamism for ***.

My site includes a lot of the letter x in it's text (that's Oxford not sex) and wonder if this is what's triggering the caution.

Anyone else been up this road?

I don't think thax XXX is a filter in theoma.

Try xxx sites and you will get results!

Cabman I'm going through exactly the same thing right now with the exact same chain of events. The site is a ecommerce site selling lingerie. Even with that there is nothing that can't be seen on network television. I'm thinking that the name of the site may have gotten me in trouble...it's suggestive but not blatent. Have they cleared up your listing on jeeves and teoma ? I'm still waiting for their "editorial review".....very unhappy right now :-<

Big Balou, received an email from ineedhits customer service a couple of days ago advising that I'm back in Teoma.
Checked, and sure enough we are, wonder how long for though.
Luckily, they didn't spot anything pawno-grafic(sic) among the taxi fare-rates and pictures of cars and minivans on our site.

UPDATE: well they got back in touch and said that my lingerie site was actually an adult site and therefor excluded. After I got over the shock of that I was on the phone to customer service. The rep told me that about 2k sites were marked for review and that it looks like instead of actually reviewing some them they slapped the xxx label on them and said that's it.-----still fuming----Anyway the rep said that she didn't see how but that she would personally talk to the tech guy who sent out the e-mails, it was in the middle of the night in Australia, first thing in the morning.----ranting----If I had known that my hosting company, merchant bank, and distributor were wrong about my not having a XXX site I would have checked the "this is an adult site" but somehow I thought that they and I would know the difference----End of ranting. Will keep you posted. Hope this helps someone else.

i just had a look at your site, whether it was crawlers looking for a sequence of term, or whether it was a human editor, it looks very adult orintated.

I would suggest dropping the pink on black, the adult websites that do exist, use this and the first thing i thought when i opened your site up was xxx. It does not matter what the contents are! I would suggest a redesign of your site.

Obviously it is commercial, hence you have to take the sleziness away from your site, i know that sounds creul, but you are working against the association with the adult web industry which for years, has gripped the net, with email harvesting, SEO spamming techniques, you would belive, and every other thing that is unethical regarding the web.

Hence, you need to completly disassociate your commercial site selling womens underwear, from xxx.

You may think your site is not pornographic you are wrong. When i compare your site to a sears catalogue there is a vast difference. the models should not have to cover up their breasts. I would consider that you get new pictures of women not trying to have a bigger tit contest.

one thing that has been brought up in private conversations is the photographic policies of the manufacturer and the range of tolerance levels in various communities as to what is and is not considered p****graphic. This can basically go one way or the other considering the nature of the product.
