Teoma paid indexing

I'm interested in finding out some user experiences with Teoma/Ask Jeeves paid inclusion.

Well, I didn't pay for indexing at all with them. However, I have the top spot with Teoma for my keywords. These keywords bring me lots of visitors on all the other engines... But Teoma seems to be very quite. I don't see referers from them. I see a few from AJ but not enough to consider them a good traffic partner.

I've paid to be included in the DB, ASKJ finally stopped by yesterday, but it takes about a week from when you paid to be included. I'd like a preview of what a Teoma ranking will do.

I put a couple pages in about a week ago. Yesterday they notified me that they pages had been included. As far as results they are doing OK. I haven't really optimized these pages much; they are basically on a site I build speficically for Yahoo. They are showing up in the top 10 for some decent keywords but they are generating very little traffic yet. Hopefully the traffic will increase.

i'm doing quite well on teomi as it is without paid inclusion at the mo so i imagine it'll be like INK if we do pay and it will take out the several pages you have got and leave u with just the one...

worth keeping an eye on the site i guess, sure to get some more traffic over the next few months!

ask.com is only 1.19% of my traffic, teoma or no teoma... and I rank very high for my top terms.

One of my key sites is in a similar position, which as with most, i did'nt pay for, and thats for a few hundred key terms; but lets see how AJ does on the marketing side, i think if they can get the right deals on the corporate side, then the public side will grow, fast and be very significant comp for you know who.

OK you want to know about paid inclusion experiences? Here goes.

On April 2nd, I paid $276 to have a client's 7 adult websites included (adult is charged at 2x the going rate).

They are still in the queue as of today, the 13th. My understanding was that when Teoma came out of Beta, paid inclusion sites would be added.

Wondering why I was getting no action after a few days, I wrote to INeedHits.com, the people handling inclusion for Teoma. I was told the sites would be added when the paid inclusion mechanism itself comes out of Beta. No word when that might be.

I am sitting here stewing about Teoma. Looks to me, from remarks above, that the paid inclusion mechanism is working, so why are these sites sitting in the queue still? Get your act together, Teoma.

Not impressed so far.. I have 6 sites included in their original dtabase..I paid for 4 to be included about 12 days ago.. they were included about 4 days ago..I am front page on all but one of my main keywords ..taffic unimpressive..

I dont think anyone uses Teoma yet..

I think it's just going to take time..the good part is..it seems fairly easy to rank because of the small DB at this time..

perhaps if they become a popular search then those of us in early will benefit?

hard to say at this point..I think you give them 4-5 months.. still quiet after that then I wouldnt bother with them

wish I would have read this post before I submitted. It seems that (so far) I haven't paid to be listed in Teoma, no, I've paid to be listed in Ask Jeeves...this whole PFI thing needs to be thought out a little more by the proprieters, it's almost false advertising (case in point: Lycos Insite, means FAST index=Free anyway)

A friends site that I monitor with webtrends is listed with the # 1 spot with their most used key phrase that generates the most traffic from Google, MSN, etc.

No traffic from TEOMA.

Well I paid ineedhits.com about 2 and a half weeks ago for inclusion into teoma and ask. So far nothing except an e-mail from ineedhits say that I was indeed included. But so far we aren't on any listing with teoma at all...or jeeves for that matter. Very interesting. I wrote Ineedhits again and they told me there was a delay and that now I was indeed included. Nada.

Shady....all I have to say...well no, not all. What's the deal with the third party db inclusion? You'd think they could handle that on their own.

Except for Findwhat, I haven't found a PFI or PPC service lately that I would recommend to anyone.

Finally in the Teoma DB as of last night...not exactly breaking bandwidth records. I'd like to optimize for this, but not sure if it's even worth it yet.

On April 18th, I called INeedHits.com and asked when Teoma will have their paid inclusion system up and running. I was told it would probably be two more months.

They took my $276 on April 2nd. Nice. This is NOT the way to do business, Teoma.

that is pretty lame Beach, I don't really know why you're getting such a bad deal. Teoma, I agree is not quite ready for PFI, especially if they have to use a 3rd party indexing company to schedule inclusion. I see ghost.directhit.com or some closely related version hit my log files every day.

You may want to ask them why some sites are included within a week and a half and yours is taking forever...I would.

I did that, Keywordbuys. The man I spoke with conveniently dodged the question, implying that the paid inclusion mechanism isn't working yet period. Which I doubt. So I assume I am being lied to by INeedHits.com. Lovely.

When a search engine or any site for that matter decides to offer services or products they become something the real world calls a business. Now businesses do not have to have great customer service, but they do need to have a product or service that does what it claims...and beach...their service isn't.

As you may have noticed it says something like 7-9 days till you're in the index...I'd suggest waiting about a week maybe two and then if nothing is resolved contact the better business bureau in your local area and they can tell you what steps to take. Sometimes just a threat like that will get them to see your way. Companies like ineedhits need to understand people want to get what they pay for, you can't just "test market" something with no expectation of delivering, or even worse selling something that isn't even ready...what's the deal with that?

It appears as though Adult sites are not indexed in the Beta Period, that would be why your site has not been included.

Click on the "Adult" link on the order form or click the terms of service and it says...
