Curious how long it took everyone here to hit the $100.00/day mark with their site.

Sorry but I do not believe that someone can do $1000/day in few months! no no ~Etarwin

You don't have to believe it for it to be true. As I already said, I've done it three times (with three different sites) in 2, 5, and 15 months. I'm sure others have done it in less time using PPC.

You can say it's not possible all you want, but I plan on continuing to do it with additional sites.

If you believe that you can't do it, you're right. You won't. You have to believe it before you can achieve it.

For those who posted it took a month or less to make 100 a day with a site, was this through ppc or seo traffic?

If it was seo traffic, how can you fire up a site and have it ranking in less than a month?

buy an existing domain and either tweak/seo the content there, or buy an existing domain without much content and then storm up content and link to it from your existing sites.

if you can manage to avoid the sandbox, you'll rank in a hurry.

It took me one small update named Allegra to drop over $100/day in a very short period of time. Easy come...

Had my best day 2 weeks ago, had my worst day in 2 years on thursday...

BTW, I also do cfm/sql.

Amen. Wish there were a coldfusion forum here.

Oh, 15 days to $100, net of PPC costs.

I bought a new domain a week ago, put up a site, and linked it from my other sites. It's been indexed (not ranked though) and it's already being found by users for some less targetted keywords.

I don't have any PR, if that's what sandboxing refers to, but I'm happy enough that I'm being found.

In the same boat here. It's just reinforced my motivation for developing a business that isn't reliant on SERPS.

MovingOnUp,

>>I've done it three times (with three different sites) in 2, 5, and 15 months.

But how much you paid to get such 100$/day in few 2 or 5 months, 200$?

No, I'm talking about net profit. My expenses have never been more than about 10-20% of my commissions earned. For instance, I might earn commissions of $50,000 per month and have expenses of $5,000 per month, which is a net profit of $45,000 per month. That's excluding taxes, of course, which are pretty subsantial.

$100 per day would be like a dream! It's not a ton of money, but oh, what I could do with it.

I am a Social Services caseworker. Despite the reputation, I do make a decent living (by Southern standards). I don't need website income to pay my bills

BUT, I'm 45 years old, and within reach of early retirement eligibility. Early retirement is an option for people who can afford to take a tiny pension, having some other source of income.

$100 per day would supplement that pension so that I would be making nearly the same money I made while working.

My humor site has only generated money for the last month, since adsense approved me for their program. If I'm lucky, it'll make me $100 per MONTH in short order. That won't keep me in champagne and tater tots in my retirement, but I'm considering popunder income, which should pay well, since my traffic is increasing dramatically these days.

I've started a more sensible website, for parents seeking information and resources. There are many affiliate programs that are compatible with this kind of site, and it's possible I could make it to the $100 per day mark with this site. That would be in my spare time. If I take that early retirement, I can set up more sites, and make a real go of it.

I want to also say what an incredible resource this BBS is. You guys are great! I'm learning a lot, and wishing I'd gotten started sooner. But it's never too late!

Huh? Updates?

This isn't my thread :-) but for what is worth, I've reached $100/day last month and this month's looking like $120/day or so, with some days better than others.

I've moved past that - I'll be soon starting a "$300/day" thread... :-)

I think I'll break the $150/day mark this month :-) Things are looking very good and all the hard work is paying off.

But I seem to notice something, the more I earn the more frustration when there is a day I earn below the monthly average..

It's funny to see this because I just made $100 yesterday. It's still rare for me to make that much. Normally I make $35-80 day. Most of it is profit because my expenses are very low. I don't advertise. My site has been online for nearly 7 years. It's a content site and a labor of love. In my case, it has been an investment of time, not money, that paid off.

(As for how long it took to start making money, I made money from the first month I put affiliate links on the site. After a couple years I was making over $500 a month from affiliate links. This was while working very long hours at a regular full-time job. When I left the job and started devoting more time to the site, it started earning more.)

Hi Fairla,

I reached $100/day for the very first time a couple months ago, as a spike when I normally be making average $60-$70/day, it's a great feeling:) then your site starts growing and suddenly you get more and more days breaking the $100/day mark...last month I had 2 days when I went into the $200/day.. so the pattern's there to when more and more days will be breaking that number :)...

Hi guys!
I 've read this topic and then decide to register to post a question.

I have a website about education with Adsens, the site is on top in Yahoo, MSN and other SE (not Google). I think it is profitable area but I have only 300$/month. :(

I have about 100 visitors in a day.

Can anybody tell me how can I find some other areas (more profitable ) to build a new site to have 100$ in day. But I do not want porno, gambling, medicine.

Thanx!
-------
by the way, do anybody want to exchange links with educational website?

It sounds like you've already found it. Just find a way to build traffic to your site up to 1000 visitors per day, and you'll be there. That's much easier than coming up with another idea.

What can you add to your site to make it even more useful? When it's more useful, you will see the following:

1) More people will come back,
2) more people will tell their friends,
3) more people will link to it, and
4) you'll be mentioned in the press more.

pretty much 85% from this one site, and then the rest is here and there from 3 different sites.

Rfung, $200 a day is great, congratulations! I know it will be a great day for me if I ever hit that mark. It certainly is nice to see earnings grow instead of shrink, and I'm glad to be able to tell others there is some hope in this business.

Mabour, personally I do not find Adsense profitable. You might want to try focusing on Amazon instead. Selling books makes sense with an educational site.

I have a site that sells textbooks - it only sees traffic during the beginning of the semester/quarters. It brings in money, but I'd hardly call that a big money maker by any means.

hey same here!

I've recently started to see about $-9 to $40/day profits from my website (yes that's negative $9), anyways this is after a month I got my website up and it's currently being promoted through ppc. It seems like if I can make money from ppc I should also be able to make more through seo because it's relative no cost...

rfung, do you know how many sites are linking to your website to get to that level($100/day)? I'm planning to do more link exchanges since doing ppc is really expensive. :)

tsinoy:

like everything in AM, I can't tell you a concrete number of links, because it all depends on your competition's inbounds. Furthermore, the correlation gets even more uncorrelated because in order to reach $100/day depends heavily on what you're selling.

But, more concretely about my site - I didn't/don't really have any inbounds except from my other site(s). I recently did a 'link:www.mysite.com' and found my url listed in some message boards related to the topic, so I guess it's true - if you build a useful site, users will naturally mention or link to you. I also recently purchased a bunch of inbounds from a college newspaper - about 7000 pages or so pointing to me. I don't know how that has affected/will affect my current rankings/traffic. Oddly enough, just less than week ago I got an unsolicited link exchange request...

anyway, unrelated, but in the adsense forum, there's been growing concern about adsense revenue - my site's been hit pretty hard with a drop of almost 70% on the numbers I was pulling in at the end of Jan... whereas I was hoping to hit $4k this month, I won't have any growth anymore...bummer.

rfung, your sites gets enough traffic to make over $50 a day, without any/many inbounds.

Do you have much competition?
