my school's website <snip> did finally get indexed, however Yahoo! listed the description as something other that what was provided. It actually looks like they list the first couple "alt" tags, then a subnavigation bar, then some body content.

While our coders look for an answer, I thought I'd ask here first. Should I request a manual 'Change' on each of the hundreds of pages listed?

Anyone who could verify, and suggest a work around, or explain why this happens? It looks a little like what a bot may see. NOT what we submitted.

Thx in advance...

Your results are listed under "Web Pages" and that comes from google.

Jsloan,

That's actually a listing from google. If your site is in the Yahoo directory, it will be listed under Web Site Matches. Everything else, listed under "Web Page Matches" is google results.

So you still have the opportunity to submit to Yahoo for free and get the Title and Description you choose. As long as the editors do not change it....

Thanks All! You've explained it just right. Looks like I will still need to pay for the review (and hopefully inclusion)of our top 5 pages to get listed under 'Web Sites' and not 'Web Pages'...

Thanks again for the quick help and observations.
