Best recourse for a de-listed site?

I found that my commercial site was removed from the Yahoo directory after being there for 3 months (and doing quite well).

Without knowing the exact reasons the site was removed, what's my best approach to getting the site back in the directory?

There's nothing too sleazy about the site, aside from being able to ultimately trace it back to a sister site that also has a yahoo listing.

Did you pay for the listing or was it a freebie?

Never heard of that happening before. Unfortunately, I can't think of any good way to get ahold of Yahoo. You may consider a stop payment on the credit card charge if possible.

Somewhat reassuring to know this isn't a very common phenomenon. Hopefully, it's a fluke that'll be straightened out soon.

The degree of similarity to the other site may have something to do with it.

I got a reply from the editor that initially accepted the listing ( who heard from the editor that removed the listing) that similarity to an already existing site was the reason.

I have a client who maintained a page 1 number 3 status for quite some time, over a year under a single word generic popular term and then suddenly *poof* down to number 188. Letters to the editor have not helped although a submit change was approved and replied to which made the listing even more in line with Yahoo!'s algorythms. The strangest part is that for this sites particular directory, it is listed as *THE* most popular site in the catagory...yet still did not move from position number 188. Further disturbing was that keyword phrases using main keyword now rank in the number 1 position.
