Is there a way in without paying there $300 fee... And if so what is it. Or better yet is it worth paying the $300 year after year after year...

You can try getting in through Yahoo.co.uk, which is only US$199.

Is US300 worth it? It depends on the business you are promoting but in general it's worth it.

dpeper, if the site is not commercially orientated, you can get in for free. No doubt it's commercial :)

As a non-commercial site, eventually I should get listed on Yahoo! If I'm impatient though, it seems worthwhile to pay the $300 to get listed quickly.

But, I'd rather not keep paying that each year. As a non-commercial site, if I stop paying after a year will I continue to be listed -- since I'm already in?

I understood that non-commercial sites that paid for a review would not incur the annual charge.

Have they changed the rules again?

It's actually £199, not $199. This equates to around $299 anyhow... and there are restrictions in that you need to be UK based.

It only took a couple weeks to have one of my client's non-commercial site listed in yahoo's non-commercial directory.

Did I pay? No freaking way...
