Revisiting an old question

When you pay for a sponsor listing in yahoo does that effect the "Web Site Matches" or only deeper in - the catagory listings?

If it does not help with the "web site matches" can anyone see any value in it - in other words is there enough traffic drilling in to make it worth the cost?

I think it depends on the category, as the pricing from what I understand varies greatly. In my category it is pretty cheap, and imho is worth it. Another thing I noticed last week, was that Y! cooled (with the sunglasses icon) all of the sponsered listings in the regular search results. It only stayed like that for a day though, and ::poof:: it was gone.

I agree with what pmac said, if it's not too expensive it's worth it.

I've sponsored a few sites and they do get traffic. What's even better is that those sites seem to sell well, the conversions are good.

I do reccommend it (if the price isn't too steep). Also, it depends on how many other sites they list in that category.
