Improving position - is it possible ?

My title and description both include the key phrases I want to be searched on, but I still appear towards the bottom of any search results.

What can I do to optimize my site?
How often does Yahoo reindex and thus move about the order in which enries appear?

1. Try gathering link partners that are listed in Google, that might help you rank better.

2. Yahoo seems to shuffle their index once a month, except for new listings that sometimes get ranked on top for a few days and then drop.
