Yahoo search ranking

When I do a search in Yahoo UK my site is returned top out of 31, doing
the same search at Yahoo.com my site is returned as 20 out of 31. Most
of my relevent search terms do well in UK, but poorly on Yahoo.com. My
site is registered in a "United Kingdom" category; is this the reason?
If it is, is there anything I can do about it ie. can I request to appear in both a regional and a business classification, and would that help ?

In the UK search a .co.uk is weighted more heavily. Is you domain a .co.uk?

No the domain is .com. We are based in the UK but are attempting to market our software to many countries. Thus the need for a more prominent position on Yahoo.com

I afriad other than double checking you title there is nothing I can suggest. I have a .com which is first in both and that wasn't a problem.
