Hi All,

In all my submissions to Yahoo!, I have never had a problem with Yahoo! and being Netscape compatible. The sites we build are simple and we ensure that both Netscape and IE have no problmes
rendering the code and interpreting the pages correctly.

We are working on a project where we have inherited a database driven monster which has been built by a development house who have not catered for netscape at all.

They have already gone the Express route and were rejected because of not being Netscape compliant.

Before, we clean up the code and go through the mess, it would be great to know which browser version Yahoo! use to test Netscape compatibility and any specific criteria on their check list.

Regards,
Pete

Pete, last I heard, which might not be overly reliable without confirmation, was Netscape 4 compatible. I keep NS 4.7 and run it with Javascript disabled, figuring it's the worst there is so, it's the benchmark. I believe site functionality without JS is also a criteria.

I wouldn't risk it without NS4 compatibility, personally.

Thanks Marcia - we have used NS 4 as our yardstick as well.

Will clean the site up as best as we can and then submit. Its quite difficult getting this info from Yahoo!

No reply's to my mails :(

Yeah, they're not very good at communicating with their customers. They were better a few months ago, but after they fired the 400 people they've become impossible. Fortunately, we have this board to share info :)
