Yearly fee question

I read somewhere, perhaps in the very long discussion about reoccuring fees, that Yahoo will contact you at the end of your year so you can decide or not whether to pay up again. Is this true? I've checked Yahoo's FAQ and they don't specifically say (at least that I can find).

Thanks

Checking out section 2.4 of yahoo's TOS [docs.yahoo.com], it seems your site will automatically be re-reviewed and the CC charged. If the CC charge is unsuccessful, the listing is removed. So, I think you just need to keep your CC info up to date to keep the listing/pay for re-review.

Yahoo has been rather fuzzy about this -- and I think they'd better get a lot clearer. Automatic recharging is going to mean trouble. If that's really the intention, it's going to hurt them.

My client wants to be assured he will be informed before they charge his cc. I don't think it's right to automatically do this each year without yearly authorization.

Thanks for your answers. If anyone finds anything else can you please post here?

Thanks

Hi, I wrote Yahoo customer care a while back when they started this recurring flea :) Here's the reply that might help:

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Billing.

You will receive a renewal email 30 days before the recurring annual
charge to your contact email address on file. At that time you can
choose to update your credit card or cancel the service.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Regards,

Yahoo! Customer Care
