I just got a couple of strange referrals in the logs today, formed just as a google.yahoo.com referral would be, e.g.,

[ink.yahoo.com...]

The results are google results, exactly the same.

So I went to my browser address bar and typed this url:

ink.yahoo.com

with no parameters. - Result? A simple page, with an <h1> size font, with the text: 'Do You Yahoo?' :)

Then I tried the url with parameters, exactly the same as yahoogle results.

Now if I go back to ink.yahoo.com it just redirects to www.yahoo.com, I suppose as a result of a cookie.

Has anyone seen the 'Do you yahoo?' page before? And how does one get to ink.yahoo.com, other than maybe having a bookmark to the old ink results on Yahoo?

I get these every now and again too. I assume they're coming from pre Google/Yahoo websites that haven't been updated since the demise of Ink/Yahoo. Could be wrong though.

I get this through Sam Spade:

11/21/01 22:18:40 dns ink.yahoo.com
Canonical name: google.yahoo.akadns.net
Aliases:
ink.yahoo.com
google.yahoo.com
Addresses:
64.58.77.134
64.58.77.133

I believe those are old links to yahoo from outside websites. Yahoo doesn't want to loose the relevant traffic so they show them the google results.

I got the redirect to the homepage right away also. I did view-source: for ink.yahoo.com and that's what I got the source code for. Tried it again and got page not found.
