Obviously from Yahoo, but it only hit my base directory... is Yahoo running around checking for 404s in their index?

It has hit me twice in the last 4 weeks and I assumed that it was a 404 checker to weed out their DB.

That's exactly what it's doing, but the word is that it has to get a 404 twice before it blasts a site out. (From my buddy at Y!) (who still can't get me a free listing...)
