Hi, my first post on this Forum. I already read the archives but still some questons before spending the money, I am dutch :-)

For example I have a flower site in Holland and I want to get a high ranking in yahoo with the dutch word for flower which would be profitable as people in Holland also use Yahoo.

1) Is a small enlgish flag on the main page enough or is it necessary to have the language chooice on the first page, so the second page would be actually where the site starts.
2) Is it necessary to translate the dutch site in the whole to the english.
3) Is it necesarry to have content for, say, a American, even if I sell only flowers in Holland. So would they list me even if I am useless for somebody in America, athough it would be worth for a Amercan in Holland.
4) Can i still give a dutch discription, title. This as I want to be found with dutch keywords of course.

sorry but itīs me again. We seem to be hanging out here at the same time frame :)
Take a look at http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/Countries/Netherlands/ [dir.yahoo.com]
lots of dutch sites there, no translation needed, not even for the description. It might be useful though to have keywords in the title of your site - most descriptions are in english.

Hi heini, thanks again! I don't know about your time frame, but I think that since I discovered this site on friday I have been online 24 hours a day ;-)

I also saw the other sites and thought the dutch submission should not be a problem, but then I went threw the archives and I saw some topics where it was sayed you have to have a english site... so I just wanted to be sure.
