Hi all,
I am a new member.I see this message board extremely useful.Keep the good work going...
I have a question. When trying to get an business category listing in yahoo ,will your odds will be reduced if you have an site with .net or .org extension.
And also what is the effect of it in the search results page and in ranking?

Welcome to the board.

Yahoo doesn't care about the extension, only if your credit card clears. ;-)

If it is a worthy site, they'll add it.

Thanks a lot brett for the reply...
Traditionally it was a convention that .net is for network related domains and .org for nonprofits.
My company is a portal (and nothing to do with networking) with a .net extension. Will it affect my listing and also my search results listing??

PS: pls aplogize for my english.

Hi Gopi,

Yahoo doesn't really look into domains much. If you have unique content and your site is compatible with NN and IE, you should be able to get your site listed.

And welcome to WmW!

I recently added a site with a ".la" extension.

No problems.
