Yahoo submission

A bit risky

Could anyone offer any help please, a client of mine has asked me to re-build his current web site as the exsiting one is 3 years old and looking a bit dated, his industry is saunas.

His site is not listed in yahoo and has long given up trying to get in, but in the past he has only used the free route.

The dilema I have is that he has recently had some very nice professional photographs taken of his various saunas with models in, of course most with only a towel & some not wearing a stitch!(must consider getting one of these)

Although the photograhs are not at all pornographic do you feel Yahoo would reject the site ?

Anyone interested in seeing them please contact me with their credit card details for instant response :).

Try not including the pics at this stage, submit with BizEx, then include them in a few weeks time...

Yanton's suggestion is great. For submission, make sure you include a lot of unique content, especially information; something new that no other sites that sell saunas have. Submit through BizEx. If your site gets listed then you can change the site around and include the stuff you really want, such as the pictures, etc. If not, then write a good, detailed appeal specifying what aspects of your site are unique.

thanks for the help,it was my initial thoughts to change or swap photo's around, but I didn't know if yahoo had some high tech monitoring system

I don't belive they do Tigger. My experience is that once a site gets added to the directory, it's very unlikely that it'll be deleted regardless of what changes you make.

I would tend to say the photos wouldn't matter, as long as 'nothing' shows.

I did a website for an art photographer a while ago... we never really agressively promoted it, but he did have nude photos in one section, and for places where they ban porno sites I specifically wrote an email including the URL, and asked if it was OK. Once a human looked at the site, they all said "It's obviously not porn, so we'll let it by." Some of the photos even included nipples... (ooh)

For a business site, I'd say that staying away from nipples would be best... but implied (strategically placed limbs?) nudity shouldn't cause too much of a fuss. If you can look at the pic and say "it's *obviously* not porn," I think that's the real key.
