Hi All Webmasters,

I need your precious inputs about my 2 questions,
1. What is exactly the difference between Google and Yahoo SEO?
2. What is the maximum potential of Yahoo! and How much traffic max. yahoo can give to a website a day?

It will be great if you can share some stats or avg stats.

There are a lot of older people that still use some of Yahoo! search partners (Mozilla, AltaVista, Overture, AlltheWeb, Infoseek, Inktomi, Echocho, Forestle, GoodSearch, Rectifi), some of those were later bought by Yahoo! Updates usually happen monthly or less. AltaVista was the one referred to by my recent acquaintance (~78 yo).

1) From what I've read here in the recent past Yahoo! now is giving slightly more value to back links and keyword density. Good 'quality' content here helps both - build it and they will link!

2) Most of my sites get 20-30% of their visitors from Y. Others here have reported 1% -30% Rare to see above that reported unless there's a Google penalty or ban involved.

ex2.1: A northeastern US brick and mortar food/music venue with 2160 uniques this month has 36% search traffic, Google 1346 and Yahoo! 242 unique views.

ex2.2: A northeastern US non-profit historic preservation group during one fund run has 6407 uniques that month with 40% search driven. Google 3319 Yahoo! 600 unique views.

Thanks @Hoople for sharing your stats and views. You are right. Also in my opinion it is difficult to find any website which has more than 10 ~15% traffic from Yahoo. All are getting traffic from Google.
