I am new to SEO, I 've had a couple of websites online since 2004, till March 2006 when I stumbled into SEO, the only visitors to both sites where me, family an friends, an a few curious folk who responded to off line advertising an 1 burst of overture advertissing. perhaps 500 visits over 2 years, pehaps 70 from people not known to me :) , great hey :)
Anyway, i discover SEO, download the software,read instructions apply the tech to both sites an hey presto we exist on the search engines, one site ranks fairly well but the other is languishing at page 30 of Yahoo.
I am faily sure neither was indexed by anyone till May 2006, so is that the date from which my sites will be deemed to have existed,,
I am getting a combined total of maybe 15 hits a day from unique IPs, so tis an improvement, but one would like to enjoy the benefits of the gadzillions of visits a month "norm" one reads about,
Question
1, Are links vital for yahoo
2, does yahoo use aging
3, what counts as content for a site whose metier is selling stuff. That is do I have to go research an find extra stuff to write an put on the site
4, Does the valuable content have to be on the default page, or does yahoo view the whole website as 1 entity, So could put more content on linked pages
