What works with Yahoo Lately?

Hey, this is a typical question which I haven't seen answered lately -- and it goes like this:

site ranks great in Google - lots of good links in as viewed by the YSExplorer, all organically acquired, no apparent negative link issues.

yet site ranks terrible for same multi word keyphrases in Yahoo (and site hasn't changed in more than a year)

what are the things I should and shouldn't do to improve rankings in Yahoo?

Is the directory still a useful link to have / payfor?

Do peope like pay for inclusion in Yahoo or is that dead (it was never working for me when I tried it years ago)

Do actual meta keywords (when done right) seem to matter?
