How do yahoo rank sites

Do Yahoo list sites higher with particular keywords? ie if I typed in "used cars" I notice they list a category and then you have a small list under this with selected sites. I also noticed that the keywords appeared in their title. Is this how it works or do they rank sites using different methods?

There are a few factors involved UK but in terms of keyword placement you want to choose a cat that has your most important keyword(s)in it and you want to have your most important keyword(s)in your title and description in that order of importance.
