Yahoo Search Directory

Should I submit our site to Y Search Directory!

Our site is not doing very well in Yahoo.

However, Yahoo is indexing our site on a regular basis..

Would resubmitting our site to Yahoo search directory for $299, help our rankings in any way?

I've never been in the Y! directory and really don't think it's hurt me at all. Perhaps there's something else you may need to fix/do on your site. If there is then a directory listing would be a waste of dough.

Of course you may want to get into the directory for the link. But, I've heard that it's a redirect and not as valuable. Someone please correct me if wrong.

What are Yahoo's guidelines? Our site is well optimized for Google but I have no clue if it's well optimized for Yahoo..

I would need some tips, what other webmasters do to get thier site well ranked on Yahoo..

Ours is exactly the case like you have. Our site is indexed by yahoo on regular basis but it is not included in the yahoo directory. Yahoo charges $299.00 to get included in their directory. But do you really think that just a link in directory is worth $299.00?

I'd suggest you to submit your website in DMOZ.org (The Best Human Edited Directory) since engines like google depend on the listings in DMOZ. Secondly there is no guarantee that your website will rank well in search results when included in yahoo directory.

I'm not a anti-yahoo person but it just my view that yahoo is not worth to be paid $299 for just a link. The more rich yahoo is getting, the more greedy it is becoming.
