Yahoo names new chairman

Yahoo! says veteran Warner Bros executive Terry S Semel will take over as its new chairman and chief executive officer on May 1.

Current chairman and CEO Tim Koogle will be named vice-chairman, a position he is expected to retain until August, and will continue after that on the Yahoo! board of directors.

Interesting strategy: develop the 'product' with innovative youngbloods and then when the business has to be run for the long term, hire experience.

We'll see how Yahoo fares from this.
