Yahoo's SERPs have recently started displaying my home page with HTTPS:
// (instead of the usual http:
//) [other pages are displayed OK]. This causes problems: #1 - confusing browser security warnings; #2 - dramatic drop in the page's SERPs positions. On some search keywords the home page continues coming up with the normal http:
//. I have a feeling that the search engine is treating the https and http home page references as duplicate pages; besides, there seems to be 2 separate Yahoo caches for the https and http versions of the home page. Just a note: there is only one page on my website (credit card prosessing page) that uses the https, and there are no references to https:
//home page at all. What do I do?.. Is there a way to reach Yahoo and ask them to correct what seems to be their error in handling my home page? Shall I somehow redirect https:
//home page to http:
//home page without effecting the https for my credit card payment page? And if yes -- how? I would be grateful for any advice you could give me! -- Thanks, David.
