My site has been on Yahoo search results listings for over 10 years now. All of a sudden, the listing started to refer to my site's URL as https:// (it was always http:// before). This causes problems. How do I contact the Yahoo staff to point out to this problem and ask them to fix the entry in their search results listings? - Thanks!

Hi,

do you have a subdomain on your site explorer account marked as Https or is it your serp's that are now displaying the https url instead of the www. site.

we recently had our Https "sub domain" (cough cough) site dropped from explorer, we had proof that one of the inktomi registered bots was actually ignoring my robots.txt file and indexing, caching this proof i had to deliver through the feedback form in site explorer.

if you don't have a bot file or a redirect on your https site i suggest that you do this as soon as possible, if there are links out there pointing to your secure website and there are no instructions from your server or text file then the robot will index the pages.

I would still like to have Yahoo correct the listing references to my home page from https:// to [....] This page need not to be secure and never was. How do I contact Yahoo to request that change?

Sorry for returning to this subject with additional details. What I actually need is the following: When Yahoo in their SERPs (or any other source) incorrectly refers to my home page as [www...] dot homepage dot com, this will go to my home page as [www...] dot homepage dot com. This is all I need. I have a secure payment page on my site which should not be effected -- this page should keep the https// reference. Can this be done using HTACCESS and specifically how?

Yes, you can use .htaccess for this.

It is a question that gets asked, and answered, several times every month in the Apache forum here at WebmasterWorld.
