Referral Links on Yahoo

Following search url referring links getting me confused

Hello

I have a question. I have a high quality backend counter and referral link tracking to see where my hits are coming from. However I have a question or two that has me confused.

For example: I will get a referral from a highly competitive keyword phrase that leads me back to 1st Page of Yahoo search engine. However when I look for my listing on this page its not there, but the referral took me right to that page.

Usually it works pretty well but I have notice it does this alot with high competitive keyword phrases.

My question(s) is this.

Could this be an everflux that causes my keywords to be there one minute and not the next?

If not, then what could be the explanation as to why this is happening?

It couldn't just be that Yahoo is displaying 100 results per page for them and only 10 per page for you, could it? What do you have your preferences set to for number of results per page?
