According to Yahoo Site Explorer, Yahoo is indexing urls with 301 redirects AND the urls being redirected to (the 301s are search engine friendly). I assume this is causing duplicate contect issues. How do I help Yahoo correct this issue? Thanks. Jim

Jim I'm having the same issue with our website. We had 3 domains all showing the same content each of them were obtained about a year apart.

The last domain obtained was the best domain and we decided to use this domain moving forward for all marketing materials.

The problem was Yahoo! had indexed the other 2 domains and so we did the usual htaccess 301 redirects in February to the single domain. Yahoo! has not dropped the 301 pages and the current site only has the home page indexed and has a penalty in place as its no where to be found when searching Yahoo.

I contacted Yahoo! and got a canned response...our spiders will figure it out response.

I was thinking adding the domains we are no longer using to our Yahoo! Site Explorer account and requesting the pages to be deleted. Though this is limited to 30 pages I believe.

Yahoo! seems very slow to let go of original URL that are 301 redirects now thus increasing the period of duplicate content.

Any ideas to speed up the de-indexing of pages that you have 301 redirects for to address duplicate content?
