Yahoo Ban Lifted but Still One Page Indexed

Hi,

I went through the proper procedure to see if I could lift a ban on my most popular site. It was the type of ban where only the index page showed up in a "site:www.domain.com" search and didn't rank for anything else.

Yesterday I saw Yahoo traffic for the first time ever, and now my site is ranking all over the place - I'm very happy as I couldn't understand the original ban anyway, so it's great to see the site where I think it should be. (Obviously rather subjective!)

I did notice just before the lifting, rather a lot of new hits to just the Index page form the slurp/cat bot, which I haven't seen since. Also, the regular slurp bot is not indexing anything else and still only the index page is showing up in a "Site:www.domain.com" search.

Has anyone had experience of a ban lifting like this and if so, how long did you find it took before a good crawl or at least a few of your pages were spidered and added...

I have this strange fear that when the spider does a full crawl, whatever tripped its ban switch will go again, even though I believe there is nothing banworthy on it :)

Hope this gives hope to people who think there's no way out of a Yahoo ban too. As others have said - be polite and make your site better for human beings.

I saw two sites return yesterday. Still indexed with home page only, but the ban appears to be lifted.

When did you receive the penaly, do you recall?

Well I bought the site in April last year and as far as I can remember, it was always banned. I redesigned it almost straight away, that may have tripped it, I'm not sure as I wasn't such an obsessive about SE traffic in those days.

Did you also apply for the ban to be lifted? Maybe it's a coincidence my site appeared again if not, maybe Yahoo decided real old-time bans should be lost.

Are you seeing spidering of other pages? I see the occasional one or two being looked at but nothing like a deeep crawl.

I put in a reinclusion request about a week ago. Didn't think it was going to do any good because I'm not sure why I'm under penalty from Yahoo in the first place.

I haven't ranked for my own site name since the middle of June. I did my normal Saturday checking and today I rank #2. I'm still showing nearly 900 pages in the index (most are URL only and it's been this way since the July update). But I'm thinking that ranking for my site name is a positive sign.

I get visits from Slurp on a regular basis, but it's minimal (around 500 pages last month, nearly 2,000 in June).

Anyone else have this experience with Yahoo?

I have been offsided by Yahoo for about 18 months. I did the reinclusion request several "months" ago. In the last few days I have found slurp trolling my site, many pages have been spidered. I can still see only the index page in the data base when I run my site:#*$!x.com request. I realllly have my fingers crossed.

One of our sites that was in top 10 for almost 7 keywords with a competition of nearly 39,300,000 pages is gone from Yahoo. It is not even listed for any keyword. The site seems to have been removed after this update. We never did anything wrong.

How is that possible and how to request yahoo for it's re-in-inclusion?

The site' cache and everything else is done :((
