Writing a good blog post is more than just putting words on paper. It's also about rounding out ideas, opinions and thoughts with content that supports your statements -- be it maps, pictures or links. And sometimes, the hassle of digging up that supporting content is the most painful part. So, to help bloggers address these pain points, we built Yahoo! Shortcuts for Wordpress -- a technology that sits in the background and finds and offers content to help build out your post in real-time. Shortcuts lift the burden of finding additional content and integrating it into your posts so that you can focus on the meat -- the writing.

YOU MAY use the Yahoo! Contextual Shortcuts Modules and any updates provided by Yahoo! (in its sole discretion) for your own noncommercial use or benefit.

Does noncommercial mean that contextual ads, affiliate links, or any other way to monetize a blog is forbidden?

Or does noncommercial mean I can't sell the plugin, but I can put whatever ads on my blog I want?

It's released under a BSD license. <edit> whoops - also has additional terms for some components.</edit>

I think the relevant part is where certain types of commercial activity are excluded (selling Nazi propaganda, cracking codes, etc). It looks like your porn blog is out of luck (unless it's just for your personal use, of course).

So if I am writing a review of a gadget why would I want a price comparison shortcut from yahoo shopping?

Will they pay me for putting this link?
I am writing this review only to put the price comparision from shopzilla who pay me for doing exactly like this.
