I keep on getting error 999 - 99% of the time I try to search with Yahoo. If I use proxy server it works most of the time, but it slows my browsing considerably. Any workaround this issue?

Pull the plug on your modem, thereby grabbing a new IP when it starts up again.
Are you using any automated services, like email or rank checking software etc?
