This is perhaps a question that has been asked before, but a quick search did not show me anything relevant..

My company has a website, we recently revamped it. Total reconstruction, new server, from asp to php, everything is new except the domain name.

Surp has been hitting us daily. Very aggressively I might add. it is all over our site. However, it has been a couple of months now and I am not seeing any change in the yahoo index. It is still showing links to all our old non-existent pages. (Actually, the pages exist, I wrote simple re-directs to lead people to our front page.)

Is there anything I am missing here? Anything I can do to speed up the process? Does yahoo update constantly like google, or is there some big 'monthly' update I should be waiting for?

Thanks.

No, that is not unusual in the slightest. I have no idea what they are always "slurping" but it must be alcoholic as they seem drunk, ROTF. It is normal what you are seeing. Yahoo has a lot of problems with the Slurp Spiders and many, many say the same thing...that they never see a change at all. Been this way for quite a long time.

Nothing unusual really. Yahoo is just such a broken search engine and even if they keep pulling megabytes of data daily nothing changes in their index - it can take weeks for them to include new pages and reflect changes on existing pages. I would say that you should focus on G and forget about Yahoo - if you get some traffic from them fine; you will get a better ROI with focusing on G.
