For the past 2 months my home page, which is in the directory, has had it’s ranking bounced around for just about all the targeted keywords. Specifically, when the home page has the directory listing it ranks well, but then for some reason the directory listing is removed and the home page is listed without a directory listing and does not have the “www” and is listed as site.com with the meta title and a snippet. This is when the ranking tanks. I implemented a 301 redirect last month the first time that this happened thinking slurp had picked up an incorrect link and was trying to crawl my site without the “www”. Then after about a week I got a fresh cach and wola! the directory listing came back and the home page rank went back to great ranking.

After about a week went by this happened again where the directory listing is removed and listed without the “www” and even with the 301 in place! After another 2 weeks went by the home page got back the directory listing and once again the ranking went back to good positioning. This just occurred last Wed. So for 48 hours the home page had the most recent cache of the July12th with the directory listing and good ranking.

Just when I thought that this was over with, this morning, yet again the home page had the directory listing removed and moved down in rank like before only the listing does not have the most recent cache.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? Is this going to eventually stop? This is driving me crazy. I am not seeing any other sites in my niche experiencing this. What the heck is Yahoo doing?
