I for one love this open approach that Yahoo have opted for. Tim (if you're reading this) you are definitely scoring points.
So how come when their human editors accept our website, their algo totally removes it? the only thing
left is link backs :-) about 20,000 link back
Plus the yahoo spider hits my website like crazy every day. so are those signs of being banned really dunno totally confused

Ain't that the truth. We used to rule in both Google and Yahoo and as soon as they took over last year everything changed. It was all we could do to not go out of business last year and we went heavy into debt because of it... so I have no love for how they do things at all. Never mind the sites that are well respected and been around for 7-8 years... no concern at all for what they do to them.
As for cross linking? What are you supposed to do when you have sites that are completely different yet may be of interest to surfers on your other site? Not link at all? That makes no sense whatsoever. Meanwhile spammy affiliate and google adsense sites rule them..... most of which only go back a year.
Regarding the results? We used to have about 80,000 pages of product on Google and Yahoo until last year when on yahoo we dropped to 1,100 and stayed there for 10 months...then went up to 1,800 and was there a couple of months. During the last few weeks we've gone as high as 37,800 and as low as 1 . Presently in the 27,000 range. While this is an improvement we can't be doing to well in the SERPs because still no traffic from them worth noting.
We have learned to live (albeit poorly) without Yahoo and until they really do something to impress me...like some respect for sites that have been around a long time and are truly popular (not inflated BS rankings)..I'm not going to believe it.

I've got IE and Firefox open, both have completely different results for my keyword combos. After I posted this afternoon, I cleared my cookies and both IE and Firefox were showing identical results.
After about an hour, Firefox reverted to the old serps, while IE is still hanging on to the newer ones.
Note: the caches look to be the same.

Yahoo! has had a travel channel for a number of years which includes a primary travel partner. The relationship with lastminute is purely commercial.The Yahoo! SERPS do not appear to be awash with pages from <snip> stable of sites for travel related searches.

You are right, but it does seem very peculiar that an incredible amount of travel & hotel related sites got hit so hard, it the exact time that this announcement was made ... Seems like a bit more than coincidence to me ...

I used to really like Yahoo but lately it's been kind of hard to take them seriously.

We were getting 8-10k uniques a day from yahoo across our network. as of about 6PST yesterday we are GONE! Traffic today is dismal... We were fine at first (i posted earlier in the thread) so looks like they are still working this thing out.
Darn - thats a few grand a day I'll have to find somewhere else... hmmm, I heard MSN was making a move...
100's of our sites are practically identical (Domain Landing Pages) and had been enjoying 1500+ saturated pages and 25-100 visits a day from Y! As of 6 yesterday they have 1-5 pages saturated each and no traffic from Y!.
So looks liek this updates is meandering over several days and is not over yet. Hopefully they'll do something about removing cloaked and made for adsense pages. Looks like this latest shuffle should have got rid of many of the scaper sites and content thiefs.
The sites of mine that were in their really had no business being so. But I was glad to get the traffic! Easy come easy go...

Depending on the weather, the number of pages i have in yahoo goes from 4-6 (out of ~ 150). Would you mind giving a brief overview of your site - age, size, linking strategies etc. Also, do you have any affiliate links?

The site appears to be penalized in Yahoo right now, near zero vistors from them. I believe this was due to a site redesign (new template, php site) that I introduced in the midddle of the last update. Site is white hat.
Soon every site on yahoo will be penalized then what?
Last time I checked, the top ten in Yahoo was still there. You saying they're banned?
The blog was not telling us anything we had already been experiencing. More of an after the fact confirmation of an update.
What email address did you use? I emailed them last week about the same problem and haven't heard a thing.

For NO reason? You're not doing ANYthing that's the slightest bit suspect? Come on now. Think about it. You might even be able to come up with a long list without any outside input. ;)
I have NEVER spamed a SE yet, I made the extra site for safty, but as said they are very different.
4 years old site, only changes is page title, meta desc and meta keyword with pages interlinked well. I do have an affiliate page.
I am not seeing any changes in SERP's before and after yahoo update. Any one facing the same situation?
