Entries all over the place!

I know nothing about Yahoo - total newb here.
I just bought a 4 years old website and when I do a links search on alltheweb it shows about a dozen entries for Yahoo directories in UK, India, NZ, Oz, Singapore, Asia etc etc.
What gives?
How come?
Are they paid for, do they indicate PPC, are they free, how did they get their, are they edited, do I have to pay again etc etc - so many questions, so little time.

Yahoo directory mirrors its directory across the international versions.

So far as the original entry that spawned the others is concerned are there any ongoing financial implications.
Will it have to be paid for every year?
