how did yahoo treat 301 redirect? it affect ranking?

HI,
We compile many two pages into one page, as the contents are related.

For example, there have a pair of pages, page 1 and page 2, as the contents are related then we integrate page 2 to page 1, and redirect page 2 to page 1.

But the yahoo traffic decrease a lot after doing this way.

How to keep the yahoo traffic?

Hi John

Can't offer any explainations but we also applied 301's to a number of our pages (ASP code) and it certainly resulted in a drop off from Yahoo. Hurt a lot.
