I have recently run into a problem that I'm sure many of you have had to deal with at some point or another. That problem has to do with the fact that my homepage was approved for inclusion into the Yahoo Directory about a year ago, and I think it has been a highly beneficial link for my overall site in general, especially in the SERPs for Google and MSN.

Unfortunately, I am having some problems in the Yahoo SERPs. When any of my sub-pages show up for a search on Yahoo, most of the time Yahoo returns my homepage instead of the appropriate sub-page with the exact title and description that has been listed in the Yahoo Directory. This problem does not occur in either Google or MSN, and in fact I have seen marked improvement in my rankings across the board for all keywords in all three engines. The problem is that I am not showing up as high in Yahoo as I am in Google, and I believe this to be a direct result of the title/description/url that Yahoo returns in the SERPs.

Is there any way that some of you might know of to remedy this problem and get Yahoo to start returning the highly-obvious, keyword-targeted sub-pages instead of the Directory-listed homepage in the SERPs?

Gracias.

PS - From what I understand, this is also a slight problem for those sites listed in DMOZ with respect to the Google SERPs - however my site STILL isn't listed in DMOZ so that doesn't affect me as of yet...

In the day and age of trust I would consider a Yahoo directory listing, in the proper category helpful.
